The Central Epidemic Command Center says some 164,000 people have currently
received doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna coronavirus vaccines as
their second jab under the newly introduced mix-and-match vaccine program.

According to center spokesman Zhuang Ren-xiang, a total of 49,916
Pfizer-BioNTech doses and 114,838 Moderna doses have so far been administered
as part of he program.

The government began offering the two brands of coronavirus vaccine to
individuals who had received one AstraZeneca shot at least eight weeks ago
last Saturday.

Meanwhile, the epidemic command center says it will be hold discussions with
experts this weekend to determine whether or not to permit the administering
of second doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to those in the 12 to 17 age
group.

That statement comes amid ongoing concern about possible negative health
affects associated with the vaccine in young people.

Taiwan has now taken delivery of another shipment of the Pfizer-BioNTech,
comprising of 938,300 doses.

It's the 13th delivery of the vaccine brand and means that Taiwan has now

They are all part of 15-million doses jointly purchased directly from the
drug maker by Hon Hai's Yong-Lin Foundation, Taiwan Semiconductor
Manufacturing and the Tzu Chi Foundation.
