7 More Delta Variants Confirmed in Imported Patients

The CECC has revealed that seven more instances of the delta coronavirus
variant have been confimed over the past week.

The Central Epidemic Command Center says the cases were all among patients
who entered Taiwan from abroad.

The delta patients came from the United States, Indonesia, Mexico, Thailand,
and Malaysia.

Meanwhile, there was also one case of the Alpha variant imported from Japan.

Health Minister Chen Shih-chung says it is now a battle to keep the delta
variant from entering the country and spreading domestically, officials and
the public should be on high alert.
