Police are on the lookout for illegal gatherings amid Taiwan's lowered alert level.
The Taipei City Police Department officials says it has increased inspections of hotels, motels, and other venues.
Officials say that as Taiwan lowers its Epidemic Alert Level to 2, KTV rooms, bars, and nightclubs are still restricted from operating, and police fear some people may turn to other venues as an alternative.
Police launched a series of inspections early this morning, with a total 399 officers from multiple districts, including Daan, Wanhua, and Zhongshan, into 182 venues, uncovering 12 cases of illegal activity.
Police say they will continue irregular inspections, and those found flouting epidemic restrictions will face fines, and may be required to shut down their business.
