Lawmakers across the political spectrum have agreed to hold an extraordinary
legislative session and invite the premier to report on a new version of the
Cabinet's special budget plan for COVID-19 relief efforts.

The extra session runs from today to the 18th and will review the budget for
relief efforts amid a recent surge in COVID-19 cases.

The Cabinet approved a fourth special budget of $260 billion NT last Thursday
to provide subsidies to individuals and industries hardest hit by the
pandemic and disease control restrictions.

The plan includes a one-off payment of $10-thousand NT per child to families
with children of elementary school age and younger as well as teenage
students with disabilities.

Premier Su Zhen-chang and other government officials will report on how the
Cabinet has planned the funding and measures related to vaccine purchases and
inoculation.
