The Central Epidemic Command Center announced that starting from today large and medium-sized hospitals in Taipei and New Taipei will be allocated twice the 'safe' amount of PPE stock from central authorities.
It comes following reports from time to time that hospitals are low on masks and protective clothing.
Deputy Minister of the Interior Chen Tsung-yen called on hospitals to ensure frontline responders are adequately equipped and necessarily protected.
He also reminded hospitals to store PPE in places it is unlikely to get damaged as the flood season approaches.
Chen said between May 3 and 27, the CECC allocated over 38 million surgical masks, 2.3 million N95 masks and 1.4 million pieces of protective clothing to hospitals around the country.
