EPA Preparing Stricter Emissions Standards
Posted on 2021-04-08 15:13:04
The EPA is getting ready to introduce stricter controls on industrial
emissions.

The Environmental Protection Agency's draft amendments to air pollution laws
would expand existing control requirements to more work sites.

It would also require higher fencing around certain construction sites,
low-pollution certification for equipment and tools, and testing and
recording systems for larger projects.

Violators could be fined up to 20 million NT, and sites could be shut down if
improvements are not made.

The rules would also require using more manpower to clean up sites if water
supplies get too low.

This is part of government efforts to get air pollution, specifically PM10
emissions.

The new rules are expected to cut PM10 levels by 3.4 tons annually.
