CECC officials say Taiwan's vaccination policy needs a careful review.
This comes after the European Medicines Agency officially listed blood clots as a 'very rare' side effect of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
The Central Epidemic Command Center says based on the Agency's findings, the blood clots tend to occur in people under the age of 65, especially among women.
Center officials say members of this group will need to be extra careful when getting the shot, and doctors should pay extra attention when administering the vaccine to these individuals.
They add that the Center should look at Taiwan's current vaccination policy and see if any adjustments need to be made.
