Photo of Formosan macaque went viral
Posted on 2021-02-05 13:07:04
The photo of a Formosan macaque sitting at a professor's chair reading has
gone viral on the Internet.
The photo was taken inside an office at National Sun Yat-sen University in
Kaohsiung.
Male macaques are known to like roaming in that campus according to an expert
from a macaque protection organization.
Lin Mei-yin says such behaviors are not out of lacking food; instead, they
are likely looking for social groups to join in.
Lin also says that the University was originally the macaques' habitat and so
it's only natural that the animals like the place.
The institute is reminding students, faculty and visitors not to feed or come
into contact with them.
