Gou Still Calling for State Rearing of Children
Posted on 2019-08-14 13:06:14
Terry Gou is still calling for the state to take on the financial burden of
raising Taiwan's children.

The Hon Hai founder made the comments during his first public appearance
since returning to the island following his KMT primary loss to Kaohsiung
Mayor Han Kuo-yu.

Gou was referring to a policy he had proposed while campaigning for the
party's nomination when he called for the state to pay the child expenses for
children from birth to age 6.

The high profile tycoon says he believes children are the future of the
country, and that means the hopes of the nation rest on the children.

But his appearance at a time when the public is speculating about a possible
collaboration between Gou, Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je, and fellow KMT
presidential hopeful Wang Jin-pyng has raised questions about why he decided
to show himself now.
