Prosecutors question TAPM head over alleged irregularities

The Taipei District Prosecutors' Office has questioned the general manager of
the Taipei Agricultural Products Marketing Company as part of an
investigation into the misuse of business promotion funds.

Wu Yin-ning is facing allegations she used the funds to purchase wine that
she gifted to the D-P-P and surplus produce, which she sent to a township in
Changhua County, where her cousin is mayor.

Wu has admitted to buying some 9-tons of unsold vegetables for 19,000 N-T,
but says they were all given to charities who provide meals for the

While the D-P-P is dismissing the allegations that Wu gave the party 60
bottles of expensive wine as a gift.

The Taipei City government's ethics department launched its own investigation
into the charges last week.

Wu is denying any wrongdoing and says she followed company procedures and did
not break any laws.
