Taichung on Air Pollution
Posted on 2017-11-14 19:16:13
Taichung is turning to electric vehicles to cut down air pollution.

Over the next two years, the city government is aiming to replace fifty
diesel-powered public buses with electric ones.

Transport authorities say they will choose the bus lines running along the
most traffic-prone routes to replace first.

This is part of a wider plan to boost electric vehicle infrastructure in the
city, aimed at reducing air pollution, for which the central government has
agreed to provide 330 million NT in subsidies.

Taichung is already aiming to have 150 electric buses plying the streets by
the end of next year.
