The Tourism Administration reports that this morning's earthquake has
impacted hotel booking rates in Hualien and Taitung.

It says booking rates are dropping to around 53% and 51%.

It follows after a 7.2 magnitude earthquake rocked Hualien, Taiwan, early
this morning, shaking the entire island.

With the Tomb Sweeping Day holiday around the corner, travelers are
rethinking their plans.

The Tourism Administration is considering cancellation requests individually,
citing the "Standard Contract for Individual Traveler Accommodations" that
allows refunds under force majeure.

The administration emphasizes that decisions on whether the earthquake
constitutes force majeure will be made on a case-by-case basis, including
considerations like local class suspensions or transportation cancellations.

For disputes, the administration advises contacting local government
authorities.
