Taiwan's jobless rate rose in June due to COVID-19, graduation season

Taiwan's unemployment rate grew to 4.8 percent in June, the highest in 11
years and 0.69 percentage points higher than a month earlier

The Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics says it was
spurred mainly by the COVID-19 lockdown and graduation season in the country,

It says the number of unemployed workers increased by 81,000 last month to
570,000,.
