get too cold. Then they die! What can fish farmers do with these fish?

visitor. The visitor came on his scooter.
Then his scooter headlight shined on hundreds of big eyes! "Hooo" were they
looking at? They were looking at him! The visitor was scared. He shouted
"HELP! OWLS!"
The man came outside. He said there were no owls. The eyes were fish eyes.

The End of an Era: Hsiao Tai Retires
This story is about someone that many of our listeners have probably heard of.
Tai Tzu-Ying is a professional badminton player.
She announced in the beginning of November that she was retiring.
She is a very decorated athlete
Tai was the first Taiwanese badminton player to achieve many milestones.
She won the women's singles silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and the
2021 BWF World Championships.
And she got gold medals at the 2017 Summer Universiade (世界大學運動會) and
the 2018 Asian Games.
One British expert compared Tai, lovingly called Hsiao Tai, to Michael
Jordan, the famous basketball player.
He said that she was the "best women's singles player" that he had ever seen.
But she has had many injuries since last year.
That made it for her to compete internationally.
In her announcement, she said that 2024 was a very difficult time for her.
She said that before the Olympics, she wasn't sure if she would be able to
compete.
But she still tried her best.
She emphasized that other people didn't give up on her, so she couldn't give
up on herself.
Even though she tried really hard, her injuries were too much, and she wasn't
able to keep competing.
She said this isn't how she wanted to end her career
But she said she will "enjoy a life without alarm clocks."
Tai's fans say that she is not just a great player; she's also an inspiration
to many.
In 2017, she chose to compete in the 29th Summer Universiade in Taipei
instead of at the BWF World Championships.
She said she was excited that Taiwan got to host such a big event, so she
wanted to stay in Taiwan to support the event with other athletes.
She added that she wanted to "let Taiwan be seen on the international stage"
and that "showing Taiwan to the world is a very beautiful thing.
After Hsiao Tai announced her retirement, one of her past opponents
(以前的對手) said that she hated playing against her, because she is such a
great player.
She said that facing (面對) Hsiao Tai changed her as an athlete.
Tai wrote in her announcement: "I hope the spirit of TTY stays with you
always."

People in Nairobi struggle to live with lions as neighbors
The capital city of Kenya (肯亞) is the only place where there is a national
park inside of a city.
That means, there are a lot of wild animals that live there.
They can walk around freely in the national park.
But there are also lots of people that live there.
The city of Nairobi has been expanding (拓展) as there are more and more
residents.
Now, some city residents live with lions and other wild animals in their
backyards.
The lions might attack (攻擊) pets, livestock, or even humans.
Nairobi residents say that they often see the lions when they're taking their
kids to school.
Neighbors will also share in group chats (群組) when they see big cats close
by.
There's one local organization called the Kenya Wildlife Service.
Their job is to keep people who live near the national park safe, and protect
the wild animals at the same time.
There are a lot of endangered animals (瀕危物種) there too, so it's extra
important to protect them.
The KWS says that there are over 2000 lions in Kenya.
They say that, during Kenya's rainy season, it's harder for the predators to
hunt.
That's because the herbivores can hide better in taller grass.
But now, with more and more people building houses in the national park, the
natural climate of some of these animals is being destroyed (毀滅).
The government announced a plan to make a "migratory corridor" between
Nairobi and places further south.
That way, the predators could move away from the city.
But some experts aren't sure that this government effort will be enough to
protect local residents.
Residents say that there is some knowledge (知識) that people should be
taught to avoid being attacked by the lions and other animals.
For example, it's very important to not move too suddenly and to stay quiet.
It's a very complex topic, because there's always been conflict between
humans and wild animals.
But in Nairobi, the core problem (核心的問題) is that there are more and more
residential buildings in the wild habitats
That means, the city is encroaching (侵犯) on the animal's space.
Think about it this way: if you and a dangerous snake, like an 雨傘節, moved
into a house together, it would be very dangerous.
You would need to always think about where the snake would be, and if it
would attack you.
But if you live in different houses, then it's much safer and easier to stay
away from the dangerous snake.
It's the same in this case; the more that people move into the lions' home in
the grasslands (草原), the more they have to worry about being attacked.
Residents hope that there can be a solution (解決辦法) so that lions and
people can all be safe.
