Four Taiwanese and One Filipino Escape Penghu Boat Fire

Four Taiwanese and one Philippine fishermen have escaped unharmed from a fire that erupted on a fishing boat in waters near Penghu.
According to the Coast Guard Administration, the "Chan Cheng Hung" caught fire some 2.8-nautical miles west of Hu-Jing Island.
All five crew members managed to get off the boat and were rescued by the "Man Fu Chun 99" fishing boat before a Coast Guard patrol vessel arrived at the scene.
The burnt out wreckage of "Chan Cheng Hung" drifted north to within 1.3-nautical miles of Xi-Yu Township before being retrieved and towed back to Magong Harbor by the "Man Fu Chun 99" and another boat.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
