Taoyuan Baseball Stadium to Reopen for First Game This Week

Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium is set to welcome its first game after
renovation.

The stadium closed for improvement projects late last year, including
upgrades for field drainage and a sprinkler system, and energy-efficient
night lighting, and new outfield stands and seats.

The Chinese Professional Baseball League conducted a field inspection on the
18th, and after passing the inspection, a test match was arranged on the 21st
to confirm that the field was safe.

And now the Rakuten Monkeys ball club, which took over the stadium as their
home field years ago, announced that the first regular season game will take
place this Friday, with the Monkeys facing off against the CTBC Brothers.

The club says it hopes to bring fans a better viewing environment and
experience.
