China Launches Fuzhou-Zhangzhou HSR Line

China has launched its Fuzhou to Zhangzhou high speed rail line, the
country's first to travel across ocean bays.

State media today announced the launch of the HSR line along the coast of
Fujian, just across the strait from Taiwan.

A bullet train departed from provincial capital Fuzhou this morning to
inaugurate the opening of the 277-km Fuzhou-Xiamen-Zhangzhou railway.

The train will travel over bridges across three coastal bays and hit top
speeds of 350 km per hour, according to Xinhua News.

The line cuts travel time between Fuzhou and Xiamen to less than an hour.
