MOFA Refuses to Speculate on Potential Chinese Invasion

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to speculate or comment on the
possibility or timing of a potential Chinese attack on Taiwan.

This comes after a US Indo-Pacific Command official -- John Aquilino -- said
that China's goal is to have the ability to invade Taiwan by 2027.

MOFA said the government's policy is to strive to maintain peace and
stability in the Taiwan Strait.

It said Taiwan seeks peace backed by strength, and will actively enhance its
self-defense capabilities, preparing for all eventualities, and will continue
seeking support from countries with similar ideals.
