My given name is Tim Berge, but in Chinese you can call me 白健文.

When I first joined ICRT, they called me Captain Tim on-air, because I was responsible for doing bilingual traffic reports.

I hail from Minneapolis, Minnesota.

I graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota with a degree in East Asian Studies.

I joined ICRT in late 1990. I started out doing traffic reports and working in the newsroom; but now I’m the General Manager.

I speak fluent English and Mandarin.

I like to eat hotpot – the super hot, super spicy kind!

And to burn it off, I go running everyday, preferably along a quiet mountain roadway.

I love all kinds of food, but spare me the stinky tofu. 

If I could, I'd wear threads from Paul Smith everyday.

When I have time for TV, I like to watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine, SNL and other comedies.

When it comes to music, my tastes are eclectic, but I love listening to anything with a beat that makes me want to bang my head against the wall!

When I have free time, I like to watch movies that either make me laugh, or make me think.

My ultimate guilt-laden pleasure is snarfing down a pint of Ben & Jerry’s, or maybe some sweet 剉冰.

If I could, I'd spend most of my time hanging out at home … enjoying a good movie, taking some interesting photos, or going for a lazy run in the great outdoors. 

At the end of the day, what's most important to me is enjoying life, and making the most of it!
