Out of Gas But Unstoppable

People love ordering food online. Food delivery drivers are busy! In India,
one delivery driver uses his scooter to deliver food orders. But one day, it
needed gas. He went to the gas station.
人們喜歡線上點餐，讓外送員都很忙碌。印度有一位外送員騎機車送訂單。有一天他的機車需要加油，就去了加油站。

At that time, everyone was worried about gas. Was there enough? Maybe not! So
everyone wanted to buy gas. The line at the gas station was very long!
當時大家都很擔心汽油不夠，所以都去買油，讓加油站大排長龍。

The man waited... three hours! Then he got a new food order. This was a big
problem. He didn't want his hungry customer to wait! But his scooter needed
gas.
這位外送員一等就是三個小時，但是他有了新訂單，不能讓客人等。

The man had an idea. He used his friend's horse! He got the food. He put the
red delivery bag on his back. Then he rode the horse to deliver the
customer's order.
他有個主意，他可以騎朋友的馬送餐! 他騎著馬、揹著紅色外送袋去送客人訂的餐點。

The road was busy and noisy. But the horse walked calmly.
街道非常吵雜又擁擠，但是馬冷靜地向前走。

People were amazed to see a delivery driver riding a horse! Some posted
pictures online of this unstoppable food delivery driver. He became famous!

His scooter was out of gas, but this delivery driver found a cool way to do

Tea Leaves Can Clean Water

Black tea! Green tea! Bubble tea! Tea shops are everywhere in Taiwan! Many of
us drink a lot of tea. Do you?
紅茶、綠茶、珍珠奶茶! 台灣到處都有飲料店，我們喝掉很多茶。

We buy about one billion cups of bubble tea every year in Taiwan. We use lots
of tea leaves! What happens to them?
台灣每一年喝掉超過十億杯的珍珠奶茶，用過的茶葉會怎麼處理呢?

Almost all tea shops throw away tea leaves. Thousands of kilograms go to
landfills every day.
幾乎所有的飲料店都會把茶葉渣丟掉。每天有好幾千公斤的茶葉渣被倒進垃圾掩埋場。

The leaves rot and make a gas. The gas makes the Earth hotter.
茶葉渣腐爛後排放的氣體還會讓地球暖化。

In Northern Ireland, a part of the UK, people drink a lot of tea too. A
researcher there found a way to reuse tea leaves. He makes them into a
product that cleans dirty water!
北愛爾蘭的人也喝很多茶。有人研究發現，用茶葉渣做成的產品可以淨化髒水。

This tea leaf product takes out heavy metals from water. Heavy metals are bad
for health. Some can cause cancer. Cleaner water helps people and animals be
healthier.

Flight Attendant Saves Flamingo Eggs

Have you been on a plane? Flight attendants work on planes. They bring food
and drinks to people. They help people. One day, a flight attendant helped
six... flamingo eggs!?!
你坐過飛機嗎?飛機上的空服員會給乘客食物跟飲料，也協助乘客。有一次空服員救了六顆紅鶴的蛋。

Flamingos are big pink birds with long, thin legs. A zoo needed flamingos. So
a zookeeper was taking the eggs to the zoo.
紅鶴是一種腳又細又長、粉紅色的大鳥。有一個動物園需要紅鶴，於是飼養員帶了六顆蛋準備送到動物園。

The eggs were in a special machine. It kept them warm. But the machine
stopped working... Oh, no! The eggs needed to be warm! The zookeeper asked
the flight attendant for help.
這些蛋裝在一個特殊的孵蛋器裡面，讓他們保持溫暖。但是糟糕，機器突然壞了，飼養員請求空服員幫忙。

How did the flight attendant save the eggs? She had a smart idea. She put

People around the zookeeper worried about the eggs. They put their coats on

A Garbage Warning System for Taiwan's Beaches

Yuck! Nobody likes garbage on the beach. Where does it come from?
沒有人喜歡海灘上的垃圾，這些垃圾到底從哪裡來的呢?

Some garbage comes from people at the beach. They drink soda. Then they leave
the cans on the beach. Or they eat a bag of chips. Then they leave the bag.
有一些垃圾是去海灘玩的人留下來的。他們喝完汽水、吃完洋芋片，就隨手丟在海灘上。

Lots of the garbage comes from the ocean. Waves push garbage from other
places onto the beach.
很多海洋垃圾也會被海浪推到海灘上。

Environmental groups try to help the Earth in some way. Some environmental
groups in Taiwan clean up beaches. But sometimes these beaches have lots of
ocean garbage a few days later!
環保團體都在想辦法如何幫助地球。台灣有一些環保團體會淨灘。但是淨灘後又會出現很多垃圾。

Soon, a warning system can help environmental groups here. It uses cameras to
watch ocean garbage. It will warn environmental groups about where and when
ocean garbage will come to beaches. When it's coming, the groups can wait for

The system uses three colors. Green means no garbage is near the beach.
Yellow means some garbage is nearby. Red means garbage is at the beach!

This warning system helps people help the Earth. That's something to be happy

Microplastics Are Everywhere

Plastic makes our lives easy. We use plastic bottles for drinks and plastic
bags for food. When we're done with them, we throw them away!

Lots of plastic trash goes into the ocean. After some years, it breaks down
into microplastics. Microplastics are very small. How small? They're smaller
than 5 millimeters.

Fish and other animals eat and drink microplastics. Sometimes microplastics
are in our food and water. Microplastics can be everywhere!
