Suspect arrested after threatening NTaipei city councilor

Police say, a suspect has been arrested after allegedly threatening a New
Taipei city councilor.

The man, surnamed Liu, allegedly showed up at the offices of DPP councilor
Yamada Mai and flashed a knife.

His girlfriend then pulled him away from the scene.

Authorities say that, following his arrest, Liu said he was drunk at the time
and felt offended by the secretary's glance at him.

After arresting Liu about 5 hours after the fact, police found that he was
already wanted on drug and fraud charges.

Liu's case is now being handled by prosecutors.
