OpenAI seeks dismissal of Apple trade secrets lawsuit

OpenAI has asked a U.S. judge to dismiss Apple's lawsuit accusing the company
of misusing trade secrets to support its expansion into consumer hardware.

Apple sued OpenAI in July, alleging it systematically obtained confidential
information through former Apple employees, recruitment practices and
supplier relationships.

OpenAI denies the claims.

In its motion, the company says it has no need or desire for Apple's trade
secrets and is developing products that are different from Apple's.

OpenAI also says it has a legitimate interest in hiring top engineers and
developers, including people who choose to leave Apple.

The court has not yet ruled on the dismissal request.
