Middle East conflict affects 2,364 Taiwan travelers

The Tourism Administration says over 2 thousand 300 Taiwanese travelers in 87
tour groups in the Middle East have seen their plans disrupted ...

... following a wave of airspace closures in the region.

According to the administration, nearly 950 people opted to cancel their
trips for full refunds, but over 14 hundred others remain stranded overseas
due to grounded flights.

So far, only 121 travelers from five groups have successfully made it back to
Taiwan since the conflict began.

While some limited services began to resume yesterday, all major flights
between the U-A-E and Taoyuan were canceled again today.

Travel agencies have been ordered to cover all lodging and meal costs for
those still waiting for a way home.
