The Taiwan Railways has suspended services on the Hualien-Taitung and South-Link lines starting at 3 p.m. todaydue to safety concerns.
Landslides have already forced closures on the Heren-Chongde section of the North-Link Line.
In response, the Ministry of Transportation has added an extra flight between Taipei and Hualien.
The flight leaves Taipei at 4:30 p.m. and returns from Hualien later at 5:50 p.m.
Officials urge passengers to check for updates as the typhoon continues to affect travel.
An additional train from Hualien to Zuoying has been scheduled to help clear stranded passengers, but most train services in the eastern and southern parts of Taiwan will remain shut down until further notice.
