The government has announced a 4-percent raise in the 2022 salary for government workers.
The Director-General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics says the Cabinet has revised next year's general budgetary plan at a meeting today to give civil servants, public school teachers and military personnel a pay hike.
It's only the 5th pay hike over the past 21 years and the previous four were all 3-percent.
The D-G-B-A-S says the decision is based on the easing of the coronavirus pandemic and the economic growth this year and the last.
The announcement comes after a 5.2-percent increase in minimum wage for next year.
