World Bank Suspends Sudan Aid After Military Coup

The World Bank has suspended its aid to Sudan following this week's military
a coup against the civilian government.

The coup has sparked nationwide protests and international condemnation.

And the sudden cut to aid is likely to have dire consequences for Sudan's
already battered economy.

The African Union has also suspended Sudan from the bloc over the
"unconstitutional" seizure of power.

The moves put further pressure on the coup's leader to reinstate the civilian
government.
