Taiwan today reported 128 new cases of COVID-19, all but one of which were domestically transmitted, as well as 20 deaths from the disease.
The new cases brought the total number in Taiwan to 13,896, of which over 12,500 are domestic infections reported since May 15, when the country first recorded over 100 cases in a single day.
According to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC), the 20 deaths were 10 men and 10 women, in their 50s to 90s, who passed away between June 10 and June 16.
To date, 538 people in Taiwan have died from COVID-19, including 526 since May 15.
