A fisherman from Indonesia and a female migrant worker from the Philippines, both in their 20s, are Taiwan's latest imported COVID-19 cases.
The Central Epidemic Command Center said the Indonesian man traveled to Taiwan to work as a fisherman on March 26. He was tested for COVID-19 on April 8, before completing the quarantine period, and was confirmed to have the virus.
Meanwhile, the female migrant worker from the Philippines also came to Taiwan for work on March 26. She reported experiencing a mild cough briefly on April 6 and was tested for COVID-19 on April 8, before completing the quarantine period, and the test showed she had contracted COVID-19.
The two new cases announced today bring Taiwan's total infection number to 1,056 since the start of the pandemic.
