Taipei MRT circular line to start operations in June 2019
Posted on 2018-08-10 19:27:13
The first phase of Taipei MRT Circular Line is scheduled to start operations
in June next year.

Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-zhe inspected the line today, saying the first phase will
be followed by the southern, eastern and northern sections of the circular
line with a total budget of 300 billion NT.

Ko says it's important to include the metro network in the overall urban
planning so that it can be more efficient.

Taipei Metro says construction work for the 15-kilometer Circular Line
section is 91-percent done at the moment and test runs will begin next month
with the arrival of 17 brand new trains.

The section begins at MRT Da-ping-lin Station in Xin-dian and ends at Taoyuan
International Airport MRT's New Taipei Industrial park station.
