New U.S. flight security plan to affect Taiwan passengers
Posted on 2017-07-17 09:14:13
Passengers with electronic devices flying to the United States will undergo
extra security screening at Taoyuan International Airport from today.

The move sees the airport complying with the U-S Transportation Security
Administration's new flight security plan.

Under the new plan, electronic devices larger in size than a mobile phone
taken in carry-on luggage on direct flights to the U-S are to be screened
before passengers arrive at the boarding gate.

The Civil Aeronautics Administration says the screening is conducted
randomly, and passengers will not know whether they will be chosen until
they get ready to board.

It said the screening procedure will take up to about three minutes for each

The C double A is suggesting passengers pack their electronic devices in
their checked luggage to avoid potential delays before boarding.
