American Institute in Taiwan Chairwoman Laura Rosenberger has arrived in
Taiwan for a five-day visit.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Rosenberger is being accompanied by U-S
State Department senior adviser to the Asia-Pacific Bureau, Michael
Pignatello.

They are scheduled to meet with senior government officials.

The ministry says its welcomes Rosenberger latest visit -- and that it hopes
that the two sides will build on their existing solid foundation to further
deepen their cooperative relationship.

This week's talks will focus on issues including regional peace and security
as well as bilateral trade and investment.

It's Rosenberger's third trip to Taiwan since she assumed her post on March
20.

She first visited Taiwan from April 18 to 23 as A-I-T chair, and again from
June 5 through 10.

Rosenberger is scheduled to leave Taiwan on Thursday.
