ICRT Battle of the Bands


It’s an all-new game for our 40th Anniversary All-Stars Battle of the Bands!

The top three challengers that make it past the preliminaries will be mentored by DJ Joseph and a celebrity artist, then team up for a showdown against three past ICRT Battle of the Bands finalists.

ICRT, the only English radio station in Taiwan, is celebrating its 40th! We’re rolling out a special edition “Battle of the Bands” this year, with the total prize worth up to $500,000 NT, including cash, gifts, and exclusive air-time on ICRT. Sign up now!







  • Registration Period: Now until 7/31/2019 (Wed.) 23:59

    • After signing up on StreetVoice, please send an e-mail to bob@icrt.com.tw with the subject line “YOUR BAND NAME 2019 BOB Registration” in the subject line. Include the following information in your email.
    • (a) The titles of your two demo songs
    • (b) Lyrics to both songs
    • (c) Band photo: 1 photo of your band (The file’s name must contain your band’s name, be 1MB or less, 300dpi, and JPEG format)

Demo Review

Round 1 and Finals


※ In the event of a tie, the panel of judges will revaluate the scores on the spot. ※







  • DEMO
    Send any two songs as part of your demo but one must be an original song.
  • Round 1
    Each group will perform 2 songs at least one of which must be an original song (in any language). At least one song must be in English (original or cover). Your total performance should last no longer than 10 minutes. Going over the limit may affect your score!
  • The Finals
    Each group will perform three songs. Two of which must be original songs (any language). At least one song must be in English (original or cover). Your total performance should last no longer than 15 minutes. Going over the limit may affect your score!

※ Bands may not use pre-recorded background music as an accompaniment. ※







  • Bands that make it to round 1 and the finals must provide a list of their own instruments.
  • The organizers will provide a jazz drum set (please bring your own drumsticks), sound system, microphones and music stands.
  • Aside from the instruments mentioned above, contestants need to provide their own instruments (like electric guitars, bass, cables, personal keyboard, effects pedals, drum sticks, spare guitar strings, etc.)
