  • Open to all nationalities, music genres, and ages
  • Bands consisting of three to eight members without a recording contract may sign up
  • There are no song restrictions for the demo. For round 1 and the finals, bands must perform one English.
  • No pre-recorded background/accompaniment music may be used
  • Last year’s (2018) top 3 bands in ICRT’s Battle of the Bands are not allowed to participate this year

  • Minors participating in the competition must have consent from a parent or legal guardian and a signed consent form.
  • Bands registering to participate in this competition must agree to all the rules and regulations governing registration and other provisions as published by the organizer. If any competitors or their works used in the competition fail to meet these regulations, the organizer has the right to disqualify them from the competition.
  • Registered groups shall list all participating members of the group. Any changes to the list of participating group members shall be sent in writing (by mail or email) to the event organizers, who must approve all changes before such changes are valid.
  • After ICRT receives the application, if registration information is incomplete or incorrect, including but not limited to the video link or channel failure, or other circumstances, the participant(s) shall be notified and given three (3) days to make a correction or change, allowed once per participating group. If such discrepancy or mistake is not corrected within three days, or the correction is sent in past the allowed three days, or registration is past enrollment period, the affected participant(s) shall not be included in the selection process and competition; such entrants shall have no objections to these established regulations.
  • Qualification of participating group shall instantly indicate all members’ agreement to license ICRT full privileges to the free use of group information, including but not limited to group members’ relevant personal information, group information, portraits and photos, videos, and original musical compositions, etc., for marketing and promotion purposes on websites, posters and flyers, and all relevant media.
  • ICRT shall bear the duty and responsibility of confidentiality for all personal information of participants and shall leave undisclosed all non-essential information.
  • Participants shall guarantee that the performances and the works are fully licensed content; content shall not infringe the copyright or rights of others. In the case of an infringement dispute, the participant shall be liable for all damages, compensatory fees, legal costs, and burdens. Under these circumstances, ICRT shall reserve the right to disqualify participants from the competition, and from the running to be an award winner in the competition.
  • The posting of each round’s finalists shall inform participants of their performance order. If a listed participating group is unable to perform during their allotted time, such group shall forfeit their position and points, and following participating groups shall advance to fill the position, respectively.
  • According to the Republic of China (Taiwan) Tax Law, if award amount exceeds NT$ 1,000, winners shall complete the related winning receipts in accordance with the relevant regulations and provisions before receiving prize amount. Award prizes worth more than NT$ 20,000 (including tax) shall be subject to a 10% withholding tax (Aliens or other persons not holding an ROC ID card shall be subject to a 20% withholding tax).
  • In accordance with ROC Tax Law, if award amount exceeds NT$ 1,000, the resulting award shall be included in comprehensive annual personal income tax returns; winners shall therefore complete the related winning receipts in accordance with relevant regulations and provisions before receiving prize amount. If winners refuse cooperation, such winner shall forfeit all prizes, and all winnings shall be automatically invalid.
  • To achieve continued integrity of publicity and broadcasting, all participants shall authorize the event organizer – ICRT – and all relevant media partners or platforms full privileges to the use of participant information, including but not limited to name, portraits and photos, videos, audio books, etc. relevant to the event, for publication on written platforms, broadcasting, television, internet, and all media platforms for playback, publication, or marketing and promotion purposes.
  • Participants shall read the rules and specifications laid down by the event organizer, and comply with all competition rules; once signed up and admitted as a contestant, participants shall agree to all of the above regulations and provisions. Notwithstanding outstanding circumstances, ICRT reserves the right to interpret or further amend the above regulations and provisions.
  • I agree to allow ICRT to use my image, including but not limited to photos, videos, recordings, etc. captured during the ICRT Battle of the Bands for promotional material and media, including but not limited to, billboards, online, radio, TV, press releases, etc. and not limited to region or duration.
