The Southern Water Resources Office says the threat of water shortages in the Tainan area has been alleviated

Water agency officials say that Nanhua Reservoir, which supplies the city’s main industrial and domestic water, is at 80 million metric ton-capacity at present, which is 83 percent of its total storage amount.ted at least temporarily due to recent heavy rains.

Meanwhile, in Chiayi, the water levels in Tsengwen and Wushantou reservoirs have a combined total of 250 million metric tons, representing a storage capacity of 45 percent.

The Water Resources Agency has color-coded the situation in the areas for early June as “blue” – which represents normal water storage levels.
